NEWYEARSBLOCKPARTY (1) Was much too speedy in front when winning by 1L last start around here and has drawn the rails. Has early speed and positions nicely. Facing formidable rivals. Respect in this event. CAPT. CANDY (4) Ordinary performance when 9th last time at this venue and facing stiffer opposition. Should muster plenty of early toe. Racing consistently this campaign. Worth a ticket. POWERFUL (5) Picked up some late ground when 4th last time at Thistledown but up against stronger rivals. Martin Chuan and Steve Epley Jr link well together. Include in chances.
